Meet the stylistFrom Timberland boots and tall tees, to Margiela sneakers and the most intricate embroidery on tailored suit jackets, Xavier is the "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" in every aspect of the analogy. Reigning from one of Atlanta's most poverty stricken neighborhoods, Xavier mistakingly fell in love with fashion in junior high school as sort of a defense mechanism. He didn't want to be known as the boy with ways that were a tad bit too feminine, but rather the kid that wowed everyone with his impeccable sense of style. Approaching high school, Xavier began paying close attention to fashion magazines, studying designer brands. This in return left a burning desire to want more. At age 14 Xavier began working part-time as dishwasher at Hammond Glen Senior Community which set him apart from his peers; it gave him financial freedom to curate a look that was all his own. Inspired by one of his favorite fashionable rap groups "Dipset" Xavier began to invest in Miskeen hand-painted t-shirts, Evisu Jeans, and Prada America's Cup sneakers.

After working tirelessly for 8 years as a Pharmacy Technician and an unsuccessful 6 year year stint at Albany & Georgia State Universities, Xavier reached out to Atlanta based fashion stylist Kara Johnson who would take him on as her assistant. In working with Kara, Xavier would learn the fundamentals of wardrobe styling, including the importance of building relationships. Xavier's work ethic and resilience granted him opportunities to co-style on projects for celebrity clients that include Sevyn Streeter, Lil Boosie, and Dej Loaf. In efforts to further expand his portfolio, Xavier began reaching out to local photographers where he exchanged tfp (time-for-prints). Through this method, Xavier would be asked by photogrpher Will Kennedy to provide wardrobe for a shoot with Team USA track athlete Monica Hargrove and America's Next Top Model winner Keith Carlos. Pleased with the outcome of the shoot, Monica kept in touch with Xavier to style her for a series of photo shoots that would land him his first major publishing on Wilhelmina.com. However, this is only the beginning. Xavier has his sights set on Paris Fashion Weeks and Met Gala red carpets. The best has yet to come... |
